Scott Martin This record totally deserved to be on all the 2019 ‘best of’ lists. Seems best listened to in its entirety in one sitting- the songs flow one into the next in a really natural way. The playing is so visceral- there’s a physicality to it that makes me think of it as sound sculpture more than just music.
On a practical level, it’s great to listen to when lifting and fantasizing about smashing the patriarchy.
Highest recommendation. Favorite track: Holding Pattern.

Mathieu Ball (electric guitar, guitar amps) and Loel Campbell (drums) with guest appearances from Thierry Amar (Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Thee Silver Mt Zion) on Contrabass and Seth Manchester's synth overdubs. The album was recorded with Seth Manchester at Machine with Magnets in Pawtucket Rhode Island.
